New Warhawk update gives new gameplay modes, quick play, and more

While you could easily be glued to Destructoid for all your E3 updates, you could be playing Warhawk while being glued to Destructoid. Be sure to boot up the game on Wednesday to pick up the Warhawk 1.4 update, which is dropping two new modes and a whole bunch of updates onto PS3 owners.

First up is “Hero” mode. What you’ve got here is essentially VIP, but teamed. On each team, one player is randomly selected as the Hero, and scores points for the team by killing enemies, while the rest of the team can score by killing the other team’s Hero.

Next is “Collection” mode, which can be summed up as Capture the Flag, but leaving all the orbs that you collect as neutral objects in between the bases. The trick here is that there are four orbs on the field, and the more you bring back at once, the point totals jump up real quick. Bringing back three orbs nets six points, while bringing back all four scores ten.

Otherwise, they’ve added a Quick-Join feature, cutting out some of the matchmaking work, allowed for a minimum rank to join servers, some new Home features, and a whole ton more of options. You can check out the full details of the update over at PlayStation.Blog.
