Molyneux has ‘plans for Fable 3, 4, and 5’

In a recent interview with GameTrailers, a solemn Molyneux apologizes for all of his “atrocious mistakes” with the original Fable, then goes on to say that Lionhead has plans for Fable 3, 4, and 5. He also mentions a mystery project that the UK developer has in the works. Aside from the bittersweet irony of the face-to-face, Molyneux divulges nothing about the planned sequels or the unannounced project.

We’ve got plans for Fable 3, 4, and 5 actually. It’s a big story arc. You can see – if you play Fable 2, you’ll recognize things from Fable 1. So, that’s pretty exciting. But there is another project at Lionhead that we’ve been working on a long time. It’s kind of the result of an experiment that went incredibly well and we thought, ‘this has got to be a game.’ We can’t say anything about it at all.

If there’s one thing that I can really count on, it’s Molyneux’s raw enthusiasm for what he does. Sure, the man may not have delivered on the promises of the original Fable, but you can easily see that he wants to make great games. What do you think the new project is? In a previous interview we ran, Molyneux seemed pretty revved about the possibility of a MMO.
