ININ Games has announced that it’s ultra-cute arcade multiplayer title Bubble Bobble 4 Friends will come bouncing onto PS4 this winter, bringing with it “greatly expanded” content.

Originally released on Nintendo Switch in November 2019, Bubble Bobble 4 Friends features all of the colurful and engaging single-screen action of Taito’s 1986 classic, but offers a fresh modern look, remixed sound and music, and all-new four-player co-operative gameplay. All of the old-school mechanics have returned, including giant fruits and cakes, EXTEND bonuses, and the return of gaming’s most terrifying villain, Baron von Blubba.

The PS4 port of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends will include a run of new stages and game modes, both of which will be added to the Switch edition as a free update. ININ Games are also hosting a fun fan-art competition, with 10 talented folk getting the prestige of seeing their art featured in the game’s credit sequence. You can register for the competition right here. Entries close on May 31.
