Legendary drops ‘the box,’ coming to 360, PS3, and PC this Summer

Remember when Spark Unlimited’s next-gen first-person shooter was called Legendary: The Box? No more — perhaps adult film star Jenna Jameson’s lawyers took beef with the Sherman Oaks-based developer, as they’ve now dropped “The Box.”

Now simply called Legendary, today it has been announced that the title will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this summer.

Legendary is the type of game we want every gamer, regardless of system allegiance, to get the chance to play,” said Spark Unlimited’s CEO Craig Allen. “We’re taking our time to ensure optimum performance, regardless of platform.”

In other words, if they port this to three consoles, they can make more money. I’m fine with that, as long as all of this werewolf and gryphon killing action is as fun as it sounds. Hamza seemed to dig the game when the tried it out at last year’s EIEIO, and come this March at EIEIO 2, I hope to get some time with an updated build. I’ll be sure to let you know if this box is as legendary as Spark Unlimited seems to think.
