Solo mode comes to Apex Legends for a limited time

One life to live

Apex Legends will be hosting a new event next week. Called the “Iron Crown Collection,” the biggest new feature for this update will be a limited time solo mode. As the name implies, you’ll drop by yourself onto the map and need to survive all alone to become the victor. It’s been a feature in every other battle royale game and was only a matter of time before it arrived in Apex.

As for how the event will play, it’s likely that there won’t be any gameplay modifiers to solos mode. There may be less loot to compensate for smaller “teams,” but I wouldn’t expect anything significant to happen to the general flow of a match. You’ll likely still be looting, shooting, and dodging incoming fire, just with potentially more lethal results.

The Iron Crown Collection will be running from August 13 to August 27. I’m not sure it will be enough to pull in any lost players, but it does seem like a solid addition to the core game.
