Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Spirit event this weekend involves many mega men

Revealed by way of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s latest patch, the new Spirit Event is…Mega Man themed!

A lot of the spirits are Mega Man incarnations, rivals and Robot Masters you’ve seen before (like Mega Man Volnutt or Bass) but it still feels great that the Blue Bomber is getting some sort of spotlight in the shadow of an actual new game.

For years these sort of “Mega Man appreciation” things would pop up while the corpse of the character rotted underground, like a modern day Persephone visiting the Earth before returning to the underworld. But no more. Mega Man is relevant again and this celebration feels a lot more appropriate.
