We’re shocked: SCEA trademarks ‘Resistance 2’

Not only was Insomniac’s PlayStation 3 first-person shooter Resistance: Fall of Man a pretty good game, but it also sold a few copies. It’s silly to think that the folks at Insomniac are sitting on their hands after having finished work on Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

Surfer Girl has already dropped a fair amount of (rumored) information on the sequel to Resistance. Whether or not that information pans out as truth remains to be seen, but here’s a solid fact: Sony Computer Entertainment of America filed for trademark of “Resistance 2” on December 18.

Sure, “Resistance 2” could be anything — a Sony branded toothpaste, for instance. But I think it’s safe to assume that it will be an Insomniac Games developed first-person shooter game for the PlayStation 3. If I were calling the shots, I’d release information on this game next month, and I’d do it on the Internet and in one magazine as an exclusive. Just throwing it out there. I’m smart. Just sayin’ is all.
