Grand Theft Auto IV DLC sorta delayed

During a financial results call today, Take-Two Interactive revealed a not-too-shocking truth — Xbox 360-exclusive downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV won’t be available until the company’s 2009 fiscal year. In English, what that means is that the DLC could be available anywhere between November 1, 2008, and January 31, 2009.

It may pain you to know that the much-hyped pieces of DLC could possibly already be complete; Take-Two says the delay is only “in order to provide a better balance in Take-Two’s release schedule.” Or at least that’s what they want us to believe. The content was originally scheduled to hit before November 1.

Considering I’m still not more than 46% through the content that shipped on the disc, I’m not losing any sleep over this delay. It would, however, make a ton of sense to offer up another GTA IV SKU in late November (gift buying season, baby!) that contained the content. Nothing says “dollar signs” like some fresh new packaging for the holidays.
