Spice & Wolf VR is bringing its anime anthro action to PC in June

Crowdfunded VR experience launching soon

Indie studio SpicyTales has announced that its VR experience based on the manga/anime franchise Spice & Wolf will be coming to Oculus Rift, Oculus GO and HTC Vive in June.

A product of two separate crowdfunding campaigns – which took place last winter on both Kickstarter and Campfire – Spice & Wolf VR will put players in the role of series protagonist Lawrence, as he hangs out in a cottage with wolf goddess Holo. The scenarios will be written by Spice & Wolf’s original author, Isuna Hasekura.

While I have no knowledge of the Japanese franchise outside of character recognition, it seems that for the fans of the manga series, Spice & Wolf VR is an exciting prospect. The crowdfunding campaigns hit their goals in mere hours, with the Campfire fundraising some ¥72 million, or roughly $650,000, in no time at all.

Spice & Wolf VR launches on PC for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive June 3.
