Punky platformer returns with new stages, music and more

THQ Nordic has announced that retro-influenced platform adventure Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, is coming to Switch, with both its DLC expansion and further new content, as The Owltimate Edition.

Twisted Dreams was the 2012 sequel to 1987’s Commodore 64 classic The Great Giana Sisters, which originally landed its developer in hot water due its more than passing resemblance to a Nintendo game featuring a certain plumber. Twisted Dreams stars teenage protagonist Giana, who must traverse through her own nightmares, switching between cute and punky personas at the press of a button, affording her new skills and abilities, as well as changing the game’s landscape and music.

The Owltimate Edition will include the original Twisted Dreams title, as well as its Rise of the Owlverlord DLC. If that wasn’t enough, then five new levels, a selection of new cutscenes and, perhaps best of all, more great tunes from legendary 8-bit composer Chris Huelsbeck have also been added to this definitive release.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Owltimate Edition launches digitally on Nintendo Switch September 25.
