Activision has clarified that no microtransactions will be coming to FromSoftware’s upcoming Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Many fans were starting to get worried when the European PlayStation store listing (still active at the time of writing) for the game included the phrase, “In-game purchases optional”.

Wiebke Vallentin (PR rep from Step-3, the company representing Activision for Sekiro) told COGConnected, “There are no plans for microtransactions in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.” Vallentin then stated that the description was included as “an erroneous tick box” and will be removed shortly.

At least we can rest easy knowing our wallets won’t be shrinking after every death in Sekiro. Only the collector’s edition can kill our finances.
