XSEED Games’ has announced that their platforming adventure Freedom Planet will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch in just a couple of weeks, with the port expected to hit the Nintendo eShop on August 30.

Freedom Planet, originally designed as a fan-made Sonic the Hedgehog title, features a trio of anthropomorphic cutie-pies on a fast-paced quest to save their homeland from the evil Lord Bevon. Players can select a hero from Lilac the Dragon, Carol the Wildcat and Milla the Basset Hound.

Still showing its Sonic fangame roots, Freedom Planet is retro-enthused platformer that ticks along a fair old pace. Originally launching on the PC and Wii U in 2014, Freedom Planet has found a new community of fans through speedrun events and last year’s PS4 port.

Freedom Planet launches on Nintendo Switch on August 30.
