I’ve lost track of how many copies I own of Risk of Rain, so what’s one more? The excellent action-platformer roguelike has surprise released on Nintendo Switch today. It’s available right now for $10.
The permadeath is a little rough at first, but as you unlock new characters and expand the pool of potential items you can earn on any given run, it becomes a total power fantasy. I’ll never get tired of stocking up on drones and walking into the final area knowing I can melt enemies on the spot.
If you’re a new Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, you’ll have cloud save support and four-player online co-op; otherwise, you and a buddy can team up locally.
