New video series investigates real-life Yakuza game locations

YouTube content creator Noah Ezrin is taking the time to show us just how faithful the Yakuza series is with its recreations of Japanese locales with a new video series.

Filmed in 2016 but just released this week, the “Yakuza Location Tour” kicks off with part one below, highlighting the real life Kabukicho district and how it compares to the fictional zone of Kamurocho — the franchise’s most iconic area. The full playlist with all 43 episodes can be found here.

The short of it? Sega is pretty close to the real thing in almost all cases. Most of the episodes, including the inaugural one below are very brief, so it’s worth checking in if you’ve been to Japan just to see how your memory matches up.
