EA posts job listing for ‘open world Star Wars game’

Is it safe to say that EA won’t try to pack microtransactions into another Star Wars game again after what happened with Battlefront 2? No, it’s not, but I think they’ll be more cautious about it in the future.

It wasn’t enough of a dealbeaker for Disney either, as it seems like EA is hard at work with another Star Wars title — an “open world” project. Based on a job listing on EA’s official site, the position calls for a seat at EA Vancouver for a Lead Online Engineer, to work on an online infrastructure.

This seems to be the remnants of that Visceral Games project, which was subsequently moved to Vancouver. It’s way too early to speculate, but there’s going to be a lot more EA Star Wars projects in the pipeline.
