Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s website coding references Fall release and other details

Someone goofed

If this is an accident, someone over at Square Enix is going to have a bad day, because it seems a new Tomb Raider announcement was accidentally spoiled thanks to some poor HTML-related decisions on the official Tomb Raider website.

If you head over to the website, you’ll be greeted with a message promising an announcement tomorrow at 6AM PT. However, Kotaku’s own cyber sleuth Jason Schreier discovered that inspecting the HTML element revealed the following:

“tagline”:”Shadow of The Tomb Raider is the climatic finale of Lara’s origin story. Available September 14th 2018″

Oofta. Following that, more information has been found within the HTML. This includes the platforms the game will be available on (Xbox One, PS4, and PC), as well as an ARG of some kind that will need to be completed to unlock the trailer tomorrow. Not to forget everyone’s favorite — pre-order incentives! Originally intended to be revealed April 27.
