Nintendo World Championship showcases new Super Mario Odyssey bits and pieces

These puzzles look fun

While Super Mario Odyssey is still going with the tried and true 3D sandbox design that Nintendo has employed since Mario 64, there’s plenty of room for challenge room-esque diversions that will involve more linear tasks.

We got to see a few more concepts over the course of the weekend during the Nintendo World Championship run, including a puzzle that goes from 3D to 2D and another segment that heavily involves the new cap flipping mechanics.

Contestants John Numbers and Thomas G had to pick these mechanics up on the fly during a competition that saw over 400,000 views on Nintendo’s official stream account, but we’ll have a lot less pressure comparatively when we get to play them later this month. You can catch these new bits and pieces at roughly the 4:35:00 mark in the below stream archive.
