Splatoon 2 gets returning weapon and arena tomorrow

It’s the weekend, which means another weapon returns for Splatoon 2 players to paint walls, floors, ceilings and hapless faces with. This week, it’s the T-800’s favourite, the Heavy Splatling Deco.

The Heavy Splatling is the minigun of the Splatoon universe. After taking a brief moment to wind up to speed, its rotational cannon fires off a lightning-fast volley of ink shots. Any squid kid stood in the line of fire is gonna have a real bad day.

It’s also delightfully glamorous, I’d like to think it’s the kind of weapon Kim Kardashian carries when she engages in jungle-based guerilla warfare. Kim will also have the option of utilising the weapon’s Splash Wall sub and Bubble Blower special.

Tomorrow also see the return of the Kelp Dome map from the original Splatoon. As announced in the Nintendo Direct presentation earlier this week, the classic arena now has perforated flooring and a revised layout, so you may have to rethink your tactics from previous Dome-based battles.

Both items will be going live in Splatoon 2 for Switch September 16.
