Nintendo have revealed a new 3DS variant to add to their ongoing collection of weird and wonderful designs. This time around based on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)

The handheld device’s clamshell casing is stylised in the form of the European and Japanese (ie better) design of the 16-bit machine. Even cooler, the A,B,Y and X buttons on the inside are coloured to match the console’s original controller.

The Nintendo 3DS XL: SNES Edition launches in Europe on October 13.
