Overwatch Summer Games returning next week

If you don’t bring your kit you have to play in your underwear

Blizzard Entertainment have released a new video confirming that the cast of Overwatch will be donning their sports gear once more for the Summer Games event, returning to the online shooter on August 8.

The event will see the return of last year’s Olympic-themed skins, now available at reduced cost, alongside over 40 new items and a revamped Lucioball model, which will have new gameplay tweaks and even its own ranking system.

For those wallowing, Scrooge McDuck-style, in game currency, 2016’s Summer skins will be 1000 credits each, whilst the new skins will be priced at the standard of 3000 credits for Legendary skins and 750 for Epics. Icons, winposes, sprays and the like can also be expected.

This will be the first Overwatch event since the overhauled loot box system was introduced, designed to lessen duplicates, so it will be interesting to see if players are more successful at bagging lots of new goodies before the event ends on August 29. My fingers are crossed for a lovely new Sombra skin based on, I dunno, cheese-rolling or something.
