Original Dungeon Keeper free on Origin

It’s OK guys, this is the good one

The Dungeon Keeper franchise is pretty tarnished at this point, its name tied to a shameless mobile scam from a few years ago. But if you played the games from before EA bought Bullfrog Productions, you might remember a charming, funny take on base building and home defense where you played from the villain’s point of view.

October’s the time for demons and hellbeasts to party, so EA’s making the original Dungeon Keeper free via its Origin “On the House” service. If you’re not into dealing with the mobile app’s misleading ads and gameplay that made even Molyneux cringe, you can grab the first game in the series for the low price of YOUR SOUL. I mean, I assume that’s a condition of the Origin agreement. This IS Electronic Arts we’re talking about, after all.
