Disgaea 2 is coming to Steam, but not until January

Typically, when I hear that an older game is being ported over to PC, I expect to see it pop up on Steam in the near future. A few weeks. Maybe a month. Hell, sometimes they’re even stealth-released! The newly-announced port of Disgaea 2, though? It won’t arrive until January 30, 2017. You do you, NIS.

The exact timing isn’t all that important in the grand scheme of things and, as I’ve said before, I’m just happy to see more of this tactical RPG catalog make it over to Steam. Slow and steady. While there were kinks to work out in the PC port of Disgaea, I expect this one to come out of the gate strong.

NIS is promising an updated user interface, keyboard and mouse support, keyboard shortcuts, and “three playable characters that never made it to the West: Dark Eclair, Gig, and Miabel.” Expect to find all of the content from Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories on PS2 and Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days on PSP.

And if you’re looking for some physical goods, there’s that, too — a collector’s art book, prints, a desk mat, a mouse pad, and the soundtrack for Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. That’s all bundled for $79.96.
