I’m sad Pikmin 4 skipped E3, but this ‘leak’ cheers me up

Please enjoy this ‘Pikmin 4’ ‘leaked’ ‘trailer’

Now that I’m home from E3 and rested enough to feel like a human again, I have remembered to check in on Pikmin 4, a game Shigeru Miyamoto said was “very close to completion” back in July 2015.

Aside from that initial out-of-nowhere acknowledgement, we haven’t heard anything about the project, much less seen it in action. Nintendo was preoccupied with Zelda: Breath of the Wild during last week’s expo and, as far as I can tell, there was no news about Pikmin. So, NX it is?

Maybe Pikmin 4 will still show up on the Wii U, but mentally, I’m committed to the idea that it’ll release on the new console. That would help explain the no-show. And, really, I wouldn’t mind so much. My GamePad is collecting dust these days. I’m ready to move on to the next thing.

With those formalities out of the way, let us get down with this “LEAKED NINTENDO WII U PIKMIN 4 TRAILER” in all its 240p glory. The video is a few years old, but the creator keeps amending the title to include the most-recent E3 so that it stays at the top of search results. Smart. It popped up while I was rooting around for genuine information and it was too good not to share.
