What’s your favorite horror franchise?

Box Office Round Up

Recommended Videos

With Halloween just two days away, a dismal box office, and Jigsaw hitting the number one spot this weekend (in a most unimpressive manner), seems like the perfect time to ask everyone what their favorite horror franchise was. So who stands the tallest in the horror genre?

I’ll lay a few rules down here. To be a franchise you need at least 3 movies, and preferably you should probably have your own “cinematic universe.” OK, that’s just one rule.

For my money the best franchise is Friday the 13th. The series runs the gamut from disturbing (the original) to ridiculous (Jason Takes Manhattan) to the greatest film ever made (Jason Lives). The only even close contender is Evil Dead, since Bruce Campbell is the greatest living actor, but since that series doesn’t have Jason Lives in it can’t be the best. I mean Jason Lives is basically Jason acting like an arrogant bad ass, just like Ash.

The point is go watch Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
