Civ V dropped in 2010, so we’re probably due for another one! 2K Games has announced Civ VI, and it’s actually coming relatively soon with an October 21, 2016 release date and a $60 price point.

The publisher is once again teasing progression from the Stone Age to the Information Age, as well as “many exciting new elements,” as well as more “expansive cities.” The cities part seems like the biggest upgrade, as they now span “multiple tiles” and build options have been expanded overall, as well as more chances to combine multiple units into a single outfit.

We don’t have much to go on outside of a cinematic trailer narrated by Sean Bean, but it’ll be here soon enough to scrutinize. Four DLC packs are planned for release in the future.
