Samurai Rising is a new Final Fantasy-esque action RPG from Square Enix

Lots of Final Fantasy undertones

Square Enix has announced Samurai Rising, which is due out on Android and iOS at some point in the future (likely this year). Before you groan, it actually looks pretty good! It’s an action RPG akin to something like Secret of Mana, and features a wide variety of classes to mess around with, as well as some familiar designs.

This thing just screams Final Fantasy in terms of the character art. I mean look at the monk, the black and white mages, the dragoon — as long as it’s good I’m okay with the art direction in this case. Some people have already compared it to Crystal Chronicles, which is good in my mind.
