Puzzle Quest format tries out Survival Horror

Recommended Videos

My addiction to Puzzle Quest owns me. I play it every day without fail, even if it’s only to knock out a few opponents or gain a level. I didn’t think it could get any better, until the news hit that the Success Corp is making a Survival Horror version of the Puzzle Quest format for DS called Joshikousei Nigeru! Shinrei Puzzle Gakuen.  This time around the mix is Japanese Ghost stories and of course, the Bejeweled-style puzzles. The player must match pieces before ghosts arrive to mutilate them.

The idea that someone would combine this new puzzle/story hybrid with horror literally made me happy enough to squeak aloud when I read this, successfully terrifying my cat. I swear I will beg, borrow or steal to get this damn game from Japan. I desperately hope this genre catches on, because then I can feed my addiction for life.
