It’s about time! Okami for the Wii confirmed

Let me get this out of the way first … woo hoo!

Eurogamer is reporting that Capcom has (finally!) announced it is bringing its critically adored PlayStation 2 game Okami to the Nintendo Wii in spring 2008.

While the news is very exciting (did you see my “woo hoo?”), it kind of felt inevitable, as Okami screams Wiimote controls from beginning to end. In an obvious statement, Capcom confirmed that the new controls would be used primarily for the Celestial Brush — the game’s deep painting mechanic — as well as some additional motion-based combat sequences.

What do you all think? Can you not wait to play through this masterpiece again the way Jesus intended …or do you look at this as just another PS2 to Wii port, a concept nobody should get excited about, let alone support?
