PlayStation Eye’s EyeCreate software does stop-motion and time lapse

Recommended Videos

Yesterday we heard some new details on the upcoming Sony PlayStation Eye device, including a bit about the free downloadable editing/capture software called EyeCreate. The PlayStation Blog has been updated today with a few examples of what the EyeCreate software can do.

The PS Blog has three “cool” and “urban” video examples of EyeCreate’s stop-motion capture feature (one above, the others are here). It’s nice to see that Sony wants us to show off our creativity, and it seems like they’re giving us the tools to do so. The post says that these creations can be put on a USB stick or memory card to be shared, but let’s hope they have some kind of online sharing feature in the works.

The quality of these videos seems to be pretty good for a console camera. Given that they seem to be taken in some cubicle world with flourscent lighting, they look pretty decent.

Sadly, we’re still waiting on “sexychat” specifics.
