We’re not getting any new Mass Effect: Andromeda news this N7 Day

Also: N7 Day is a thing, apparently?

Apparently November 7 is a day for all things Mass Effect that EA really wants to get off the ground. Think of it like May 4 is for Star Wars, except only really BioWare pays attention to it.

You see, the joke here is that Commander Shepard’s official designation is N7, and November 7 kind of looks like N7 if you squint. Hence a shameless marketing day for BioWare! Hooray!

Except it looks like even it isn’t quite as involved in the day as it could’ve been, as it has confirmed there will be no new announcements or news about the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda.

In a blog post outlining the many fun things going on on N7 Day, BioWare confirmed that the one thing people would be interested in isn’t actually happening:

“And while we won’t have any major announcements for Mass Effect: Andromeda this N7 Day, keep an eye out on Saturday for some surprises that we’re sure you’ll enjoy.”

I’m not entirely sure what surprises there could be that are: a) good enough to really care about and b) are not considered “major announcements” for the newest game that people have been avidly awaiting. Still, I suppose that’s the whole point of a surprise.

But if you’re upset about this news that there won’t be any news, then fear not! You can still partake in the day by buying some Mass Effect merchandise if you really want to. And… I don’t know… tenderly rub the cheek of some Garrus fanart or something? I don’t know what we’re meant to do on N7 Day. Bake a cake?
