Square Enix is remaking Final Fantasy Adventure (called Mystic Quest in Europe) for PlayStation Vita and mobile, the company revealed today amidst all the excitement out of Tokyo Game Show.

Initially released for Game Boy in 1991, Adventure isn’t exactly a typical Final Fantasy experience, bearing more resemblance to The Legend of Zelda in some ways than the mainline series.

Final Fantasy Adventure is also responsible for spawning the Mana series, and has actually been remade once before in 2003 for Game Boy Advance under the name Sword of Mana.

Square Enix plans to release the remake on PS Vita, iPhone, and Android in Japan this winter.
