We actually have some amiibo news for once

Alert, alert

For all five people (four if you don’t include myself) who still care about amiibo, there’s some actual news this week for the figures.

The first bit comes curiously right before the Nintendo Switch presentation (tonight, which we will be covering!), and cites three mysterious new figures by way of CPSIA certifications. One of them seems to be a dual pack, but somehow, all signs point to the announcement of Cloud, Bayonetta, and Corrin along with the rumored Super Smash Bros. Switch port.

For those of you who have been waiting to nab the Wolf Link amiibo separately, it’s just been verified in Target’s system with a placeholder price of $15.99, which seems about right since it’s a little bulkier than normal (most amiibo are $12.99 MSRP, outside of a few exceptions like the Monster Hunter ones).

The amiibo scene has been really cold for roughly a year now, but if the Switch takes off it might just re-ignite the flames.
