Here’s what you’re getting with the StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void prologue

Three missions, par for the course

Recommended Videos

There’s some confusion floating around regarding StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void‘s prologue section, so let me clear it up a bit for you. It’s called Whispers of Oblivion, and it consists of three missions, which bridge the gap between Heart of the Swarm and the upcoming third piece of the StarCraft II puzzle, Void. Legacy of the Void will be a standalone game that concludes the StarCraft narrative (for now, at least) — it’s set to debut in “winter” of 2015 or 2016.

Whispers will arrive near the launch of the proper game for free, but if you pre-purchase Void now, you’ll gain instant access to the beta, as well as the prologue. In short, the prologue is par for the course, which is a good thing in my book. As weird as the story gets, the levels themselves are pretty fun.
