Weekend Deals: Project Highrise, ESO Gold, discounts on CPU and GPU

Lower price on Highrise

Recommended Videos

For those longing to play an updated version of SimTower or try a different sort of city-builder, Project Highrise released yesterday on Steam for $19.99. The Indie developer SomaSim appears to have done a bang up job as it’s one of the top selling games on Steam and has 92% positive user reviews. GamesRocket has the game with a 25% discount to $14.95, making it $5 cheaper for those who might be willing to give ‘er a shot for just a bit less cash. Be sure to login or create an account to see the full discount.

Another hot deal this weekend resides at GMG, where The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Edition drops to only $40. The Gold Edition released yesterday from Bethesda for $59.99, but GMG has the game listed for only $49.99 (listing error?) and has a 20% discount on top further dropping the price to $40. That makes a total of $20 in savings this release weekend. Gold includes the base game plus four DLC packs. The DLC alone use to cost around $80 in TESO Crowns to purchase separately.

Some solid hardware deals are worth mentioning this weekend for PC gamers looking to upgrade or start fresh with a new gaming rig. Monoprice has cheap Intel Skylake CPU with a Core i5-6600K going for $209.99 – matching its historic low. Also available is the Summer 2016 released Radeon RX 480 for $268 which is quite a bit cheaper than the $290 – $400 it sells for anywhere else online due to supply/demand issues. Finally, LG’s popular UltraWide monitors are on tap starting at $300.
