‘Other surprises’ in store for NX, says Ubisoft

I dream of Beyond Good and Evil 2

Nintendo may have infuriatingly little to say about its next gaming system right now, but we have continuous rumors to keep us guessing, and Ubisoft isn’t done teasing what’s ahead.

Following Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s comments about how the NX is “really great” and will “help the industry to continue to grow and to take a lot more casual players back to the industry,” executive director of EMEA Alain Corre says the company has “other surprises” in development for NX besides Just Dance “that we will announce later.” More Beyond Good and Evil and UbiArt Rayman, please!

Corre also explained to GamesIndustry.biz that the publisher “believe[s] Nintendo has the power to reinvent the way families are playing,” which is a curious statement indeed. “Nintendo is a fantastic powerhouse of brands that are really cherished by a lot of fans and families… I am still impressed by the reoccurrence of success and appetite even today for the Nintendo franchises on the current system.”

I hope that latest round of rumors about the NX being a handheld with detachable controllers pans out, and that whatever the case may be, we hear details straight from Nintendo soon. Things are heating up.
