Destiny’s House of Wolves expansion will not ship with a raid

Instead, you’ll get a three-player Prison of Elders activity

We know that Destiny’s House of Wolves, the second expansion for the game, is dropping on May 19. Now we have a bit more information, like the fact that there will be no raid at launch, and the Trials of Osiris will show up at some point. Instead of a raid (which will arrive “later this year”), you’ll get the Prison of Elders, a “brand new three-player cooperative multiplayer arena.”

Sounds an awful lot like Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot to me. While I definitely won’t judge until I try it, Destiny seems to be getting less “massive” all the time, downgrading from a six-person raid to a three-person battledome.

If House of Wolves only offers an hour-long story like the last DLC and Prison of Elders isn’t as robust as a full raid, I doubt I’ll be playing Destiny for more than a week in May. This whole $95 package really does feel like a Destiny 2 beta test in many ways.
