Mass Effect: Andromeda ditches Paragon/Renegade system for ‘shades of gray’

BioWare fans will remember that

Given how much Mass Effect erotica exists, its fitting that the newest entry in the series will move away from simplistic binaries and towards “shades of gray.” How many, you ask? Perchance 50? My ankles tied, Garrus bent me over the command center and began spanking my stinging cheeks. As I looked back I could see him pull out his weird alien dick.

Piggybacking on yesterday’s confirmation that the new Mass Effect sidesteps all your choices from the original trilogy, while somehow maintaining the integrity of your personal canon in the most useless of ways (it’s a different galaxy!), creative director Mac Walters has told Games Radar, vaguely, how the new choice system will work.

“I think in general, with all this sophistication of games or engaging in any kind of entertainment right now, [gamers are] looking for more of those shades of grey,” Walters said. While the old good vs bad system, “was a core part of who Shepard was,” with Andromeda, “I think now we’re moving away from that.

“We’ve been looking for other ways to engage more of those shades of grey; less about it being obviously being right or wrong and more about giving people a sense of choice.”
