No Man’s Sky doesn’t have a proper story, but it has lore

Lead designer Sean Murray notes that although No Man’s Sky doesn’t necessarily have a real story mode, the game does have “little touches” that explain why the universe came into being, and what inhabits it. I’m sure it’ll all be very subtle, but the video below does a decent job of explaining the influences that came into play for the game without giving away too much.

You’ll also see several biomes and some space travel bit, making it look like a less interactive sci-fi Minecraft. What I’m most interested in is seeing if the “infinite universe” has enough variation to last past the one week “wow factor” honeymoon.
