OSome Studio, founded by industry veterans Domenico Albani and Mathieu Fremont, has been working on White Night for over two years, and its labor is about to pay off. White Night is a noir-styled survival horror game in which light and dark play a key role in gameplay.

Set in 1938, you take the the role of a man who has just hit a woman with his car and been knocked out. After awaking you attempt to locate the woman, and proceed into a derelict mansion. From the trailer it’s clear that something strange is afoot, and as you proceed through the mansion otherworldly beings appear.

The game has been touted as a return to classic survival horror, and the trailer did evoke the same sense of panic and loneliness that I felt when playing Resident Evil or Silent Hill for the first time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this plays as good as it looks.

White Night will be released on Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux, as well as PlayStation 4 on March 3, and Xbox One on March 6 for $16.99.
