Nintendo of Korea nearly shuts down

80% layoffs

Recommended Videos

Nintendo has implemented a large-scale restructuring of its Korean branch, citing layoffs of 80% of its workforce, nearly shuttering the entire operation. 10 of its 50 employees are now remaining, which will relocate to a presumably smaller office outside of Seoul.

Evidently the branch has been losing money for four years, but Nintendo isn’t ready to give up on it yet. Sadly, I tend to forget that this arm of Nintendo even exists, and hopefully they can figure out how to land back on their feet in the near future.
