How to turn depression and anxiety into a videogame

Get to know the people who make great videogames

[Sup Holmes is a weekly talk show for people that make great videogames. It airs live every Sunday at 4pm EST on Youtube, and can be found in Podcast form on Libsyn and iTunes.]

Last week on Sup Holmes we spoke at length with Matt Gilgenbach about is work on The Incredibles games, going independent with Retro*Grade, the soul crushing disappointment that followed, and how he channeled that sorrow into creating the upcoming horror game Neverending Nightmares. One might guess that spending a hour and a half talking to a man who made a disturbing and horrific game based largely on personal life experiences might dip into dour territory now and again, but Matt was upbeat and charming throughout the episode. I can’t wait to play his game when it’s released on Sept. 26th.

Thanks again to Matt for hanging out with us, and if you like Smash Bros and/or cute men who are good at videogames, join us here at 4pm EST when we welcome Gonzalo “Zero” Barrios to the program. He’s one of the best Smash Bros players in the world and he’s been playing the new game non-stop since it was released on Japan last Friday. We’ll be talking to him about how he got into the competitive scene, how Smash Bros 4 stacks up against past games in the series, and a lot more. We’re also giving out codes for the 3DS demo of the game, but you’ll have to watch to try to grab one. I hope you do!
