Way of the Samurai 4 announced for PC

Ghostlight deviates from pattern with this action game port

Way of the Samurai 4 is cutting a trail to PC later this year, Ghostlight has announced.

The publisher admits porting the open-world action game is a tad outside its wheelhouse, but decided to take a swing at it all the same. Historically, the company has distributed obscure JRPGs for European markets, but perhaps this is a portent of things to come.

Set in 19th century Japan, Way of the Samurai 4 forces players to take sides in a three-way conflict between shogunate pro-government forces, isolationist rebels, and meddlesome foreign powers.

In Destructoid’s 2012 review of the PlayStation version, Josh Tolentino called the title a “rewarding experience,” albeit one that may be an acquired taste with some rough edges.
