TGS 2007: Devil May Cry 4 trailer wants to cry your devils

No gameplay in this one, but with Devil May Cry, you know what the gameplay’s going to be — juggling, shooting and running around looking ludicrously cool. This trailer, fresh from the Tokyo Game Show, is made up of some of the killer cinematics that will be present in the game, including … is that? … yes it is, that’s a dude with a monocle! As Destructoid’s “Mr. Monocle,” I can’t help but fully approve of anything Devil May Cry 4 does now, just on the strength of that one character.

Character aside, this trailer brings everything we expect from the DMC series. The sense of style, even in the face of physics (you can’t load a gun like that!) gives the game a sense of self-parody that was very evident in the previous game. I remember laughing my head off at the intro movie for Dante’s Awakening thanks to how ridiculously over the top it was. It seems DMC4 is going to keep that cheesey spirit alive. Awesome stuff.
