Cheap Ass Gamer’s very own David Abrams (Cheapy D) revealed in the site’s latest podcast, CAGcast #85: You Got Served!, that CAG Productions has received a subpoena from electronics retailer Circuit City.

Circuit City is asking for any and all information on forum member Speedy1961. Speedy somehow has access to Circuit City print ads before they are publicly available, and has been sharing them with the readers of Cheap Ass Gamer.

Abrams tells Destructoid that the subpoena specifically mentions a Cheap Ass Gamer fourm thread titled “uber thread”, which managed to break the news about the PlayStation 3 price drop prior to the official announcement by Sony.

“The CAG community’s trust and respect is very important to me, so I’ve hired legal representation to deal with the situation,” Abrams tells Destructoid. “Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep everyone updated in future episodes of the CAGcast.”
