TGS 2007: Blacksite: Area: 51 has new movie and screens

Recommended Videos

Ever since playing the demo on Xbox Live, I have to say I’ve been anticipating Blacksite: Area 51 quite a bit. It didn’t seem to do anything stunningly innovative, but what it did do, it appeared to do quite well. The game just looks very pretty and the gameplay should be of the simple-yet-satisfying variety, and I say there’s plenty of room for that left in the games market. This latest trailer does little to apprehend my interest in Midway’s alien-a-gogo. The footage shown in this environment video looks gorgeous as anything and this could be one of the best looking games out there.

Of course, games can look as beautiful as John Romero’s hair and play like crap, proving that you can polish a turd.  I still remember the last Midway-produced Area 51 game and that looked very nice as well. It also played well … for about fifteen minutes, before devolving into uninspired, uninteresting pap. I really hope this one lives up to expectations. I don’t even want a Game of the Year out of it, just give me something good, Midway. I know you guys are capable of good.

Also, screenshots. Check out the three images below from Shacknews. This game really is undeniably sexsome in terms of graphics.
