Destructoid nominated at the Games Media Awards

Recommended Videos

Since its humble beginnings, Destructoid has gone from strength to strength, gaining followers without and within the games industry, growing to a ridiculous size and becoming the largest independent gaming website online. Now we have a chance to add “award-winning” to our ever-growing list of achievements, as ‘Toid has been nominated for the non-commercial website award at Britain’s first ever Games Media Awards.

Some of you already know the news, but what you don’t know is that you’ll want to pick up the next issue of MCV magazine, on sale in the UK at the end of the month, for a feature that includes yours truly speaking about the nomination. Both myself and Lord David Houghton will also be in attendance for the award show on October 11th, where we hope to scoop up the prize and do our robotic leader proud.

Representing Destructoid is one of the highest honors I have ever experienced, and I know my colleague feels the same way. Pray for us as we go forth and bring further glory to the kingdom of Mr. Destructoid, aiming to return either with our shields, or upon them. That said, remember that it’s your support that got us this far. Without your readership and your loyalty, we’d just be another two-bit blog trying to make it in the world. Pat yourselves on the back and be proud of what you helped create.

Most importantly though … wish us luck.
