Live from E3

The latest Final Fantasy XIV livestream has a decided focus on PVP, specifically the new “Frontline” battles coming in a future patch. This new PVP mode will involve three teams of 24 players, up to a max of 72. If not enough players are queuing, the system will launch a smaller battle with teams eight or lower.

There will be an item level sync once you’re in to even things up, and monsters will be a part of the action. Yoshida notes that this will be casual content that everyone can enjoy. Battles are said to take approximately 30 minutes, and you can also change your job mid-fight at outposts!

An Ul’Dah warhorse is also confirmed, as are Soldiery Tome rewards, and standard PVP gear token rewards.
