And a bunch of new hires, many of them former Valve

Jason Holtman headlines a recent list of Oculus hires post Facebook aquisition. Holtman will head the, “business development and partnership side of the Oculus platform working closely with Marshall, head of platform engineering, and David, head of worldwide publishing, with a focus on building the world’s best developer and player VR ecosystem.”

Holtman joined Valve, where he worked as the business director, in 2005 and was there until last year. He was a huge part in making Steam what it is today. Soon after, he went to work for Microsoft, with a focus on bolstering the company’s PC gaming efforts. He was there a short six months before departing.

The full list of hires is impressive. One of the original Microsoft employees and former Valve engineer. The former lead systems engineer on Google Glass. The list goes on. All that Facebook money has lead to rapid expansion. They might even be able to afford me now.
