If E For All falls in a forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?

According to a report over at FiringSquad, Sony and Midway have both decided to opt out of the first ever public E for All Expo. The expo will also not be attended by Sega, Capcom, and NCSoft; Microsoft have also yet to decide whether or not they’ll participate this year.

The party is not yet over for the expo, which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on October 18-21, as a couple industry heavyweights have agreed to bring chips, soda, and maybe a few games. Nintendo, Electronic Arts, THQ, Konami, Namco, Intel, and NVIDIA have all agreed to show up and make some noise.

So what’s the deal here? Will event organizer IDG be hitting the local Rent-A-Center and Blockbuster Videos to populate this gaming convention with … games? I know Destructoid will be at the event, but we don’t have any games to show; perhaps I can bring my copy of Taiko Drum Master and a bottle of Jack Daniels. That’ll get the party started.

Who’s in?
