Sakurai uses action figures to plan attacks for Smash Bros.

Source Gaming spills the beans

Source Gaming has quickly made a name for itself in the Smash community, thanks to its in-depth research on the development of the Smash series, its expert data miners, and its general passion for all aspects of the franchise. Most recently they’ve turned their focus to Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai, in an effort to provide the most accurate possible English translations of his various comments and presentations.

In this translation of a presentation Sakurai gave on the development of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’re given a closer look at how Microman action figures were used to plan different attack animations in the game. Make me wonder what our chances are of finally getting Non-Specific Action Figure Smash Bros. 4 DLC. Even if he’s just a Mii outfit, it would still be a treat to relive one of Nintendo’s strangest E3 moments.
